'Tella' was exported as a puppy to Cha's Kennel in Norway. Her first litter by Jayncourt Comedy Classic gave Cha's Roberta Rossie. Mrs Gerd I Hansen is still breeding from this line back to 'Tella'. Tella proved to be an excellent brood bitch.

Her father Smitan Appollo Of Sandylands as well as her grandfather
(GB SHCH US CH Receiver of Cranspire) were found to be carriers of prcd-PRA, 'Cappi' was never mated.

Those days we had no OptiGen test. Her littersister Caccia Appia Antica did have a litter before 'Pollo' turned out to be a carrier.

From this litter ironically two puppies became Guide Dogs.

Follytower Brigantine was mated to Smitan Appollo Of Sandylands. Their son LP Caccia Famous Grouse sired a litter out of our To-Bonn's Figlia Di Jack. Caccia Fortuna was kept.

Unfortunately her daughter Caccia Colpo Di Fortuna could not be bred from due to her paternal grandsire (Smitan Appollo Of Sandylands) as well as her maternal grandsire (Sandylands Special Vintage) were found to be carriers of prcd-PRA.

Tragically Caccia Fortuna was hit by a car and died immediately. She was 8 years old.

Consequently, I was now without breeding stock also from Follytower Brigantine.

The PRA gost has been ever present in my foundation stock.
The OptiGen prcd-PRA test is, in my opinion, by far the most important genetic test in our breed.

OptiGen frequently relies on the expertise of two veterinary ophthalmologists, Dr Gustavo Aguirre at the University of Pennsylvania and Dr Gregory Acland at Cornell University.

'Balder' was the father of Caccia Fortuna and maternal Grandfather to Caccia Colpo Di Fortuna (below) - three generations back to Follytower Brigantine.

Balder and Scarlett were both typical of the Kupros bloodlines while Ebba was very similar to her sire Trewinnard Music Maker and the yellow type he represented.

'Lance' - age 5½ weeks - is the puppy on our logotype. The original photo decorates the title page of Julie Brown's Directory To Labrador Retriever Pedigrees, USA, 1994.

Lance was exported to Cha's Kennel in Norway as a puppy. He has sired 12 litters of totally 78 puppies in Norway and was used for Guide Dog purposes.

Applejack's Texas Twilight had only two daughters in her two litters. Unfortunately we could not use any of them for breeding.

Like her father Dickendall Davaron No Exit, Twiggy had a wonderful temperament and a lovely personality and I miss her immensely.
